The Member of Parliament [MP] for Techiman South Constituency in the Bono East Region Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has charged to lead a demonstration to demand security for his constituents.

To him, the police in the region particularly Techiman are failing the people in terms of proper security hence if they can’t do as expected then they should let it known.

He said this in an interview with Omanpanin Kwame Atoapim on Link Agoo AM Show on the back of alleged killings that is keeping people in fear in the constituency.

He stated that he is contemplating meeting the Interior Minister and dragging of the Inspector General of Police [IGP] to parliament over the alleged killings.

“The silence is too much, the police silence is too much. Techiman police hierarchy we are working together but in these instances, you are failing us. If you can’t protect us make it known,” he lamented.

There have been continuous alleged killings in the municipality which currently about 6 persons are said to have been killed by unknown people.

The traditional council and the Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman have refuted claims that the alleged murdered persons are for ritual purposes.

The MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development stressed that supposedly issues relating to the police service, and communique will be released therefore such should be done on the issue of Techiman.

He stated that it was hard time the police to clear the minds of the people on the killings instead of being silent.
I heard that they said they are not to talk on issues these days. If they can’t talk they should give the information to IGP for him to talk about the issue to pave way for people to visit Techiman to trade.

“I will lead a demonstration in Techiman to demand our security from the police. I will lead a demonstration in Techiman to push for the safety of my constituents,”

Hon. Adjei-Mensah Korsah further called on the security agencies, which includes the National Security, National Investigations Bureau [NIB], the Bono East Regional Police Commander, and his team to act as their silence is enough to be contained.
